The UK male cosmetics market is growing twice as fast as the female market due to the necessity to look good for job interviews and concerns about looking old.
A L'oreal survey of 1,013 men found that a fifth of men use hair dye to cover up greyness.
Taking care of how you look is part of being a man the survey concluded, with 56 per cent using cosmetic products on a daily basis and 82 percent stating that they would not be embarassed by the purchase of any cosmetics products .
25 per cent of men frequently use face moisturiser and 39 per cent use facial cleansers on a daily basis to look after their skin and keep the effects of work stress and ageing at bay.
Many women of a certain age have expressed and express concern about ageing. However, the survey findings make it clear that men too are concerned about the effects of ageing on them and the impact of their lifestyles on their skin.
