In winter months, many women notice that their skin changes from the healthy smooth appearance that they had in the summer months.
Cold winds and central heating often dry out the skin and can leave it feeling itchy and flaky, as well as dehydrated. According to Amanda McGillivray, founder of the Natural Skincare Company,
a good beauty regime is key to preparing skin for the "long winter months".
Ms McGillivray advises women to try a non-abrasive product containing naturally derived Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) as part of a daily routine. She says this will help leave skin feeling "silky smooth" and ready to be hydrated using organic moisturiser, which is noted as a key ingredient in a winter care regime.
She added that products that contain mineral oils should be avoided as these are "not well absorbed by the skin and will clog the pores". Instead, Ms McGillivray recommends using natural moisturiser that contains extracts of wheatgerm and jojoba .
