It is not only women who are susceptible to the charms of makeup .
Gone are the days where children were not allowed to wear makeup.
Today’s teenage girls are being enticed by the beauty products available.
This is demonstrated by results of consumer research conducted by NPD Group Inc.
The average girl started to use beauty products at the age of 17 in 2005; today, that age has gone down to 13.7 in 2009.
2007-09, the percentage of girls using mascara and eyeliner regularly between 8 and 12 nearly doubled; it went from 10 percent to 18 percent for mascara, and from 9 percent to 15 percent for eyeliner.
The percentage of girls using lipstick went up from 10 percent to 15 percent between 2007 and 2009.
