People who use organic makeup and skincare products can avoid exposing themselves to “harsh chemicals” which could have long-term side effects on their health and well-being, according to a makeup artist .
Laura Jane Sessions, at organicmakeupartist.co.uk, explained that many traditional beauty products contain silicones, genetically modified ingredients, pesticides, parabens and mineral oils. She said: “All these products are rigourously tested of course, but we can never truly understand the risks until time passes.”
Ms Sessions claims that organic cosmetics in comparison, are made up of botanical extracts, essential oils and herbs which occur naturally. It is thought that these ingredients remove the need for synthetic chemicals, as they moisturise, protect and nourish the skin, while remaining fresh due to antibacterial elements.
Sophie Chamings, makeup artist and a skincare specialist, recently remarked that natural products are gentler on the skin as they let it breathe, in addition to supporting normal skin functions.
