Skin care tips
In the summer months and with the changes in the weather, it’s important you look after your skin. It’s vital to nourish your skin, especially when shaving, to make sure your skin’s texture is preserved. Read the following male grooming tips below to get you started:
-
Nourish
We can all experience periods of sensitive skin, redness, as well as irritation as the season changes. The temperatures are still quite cool. So it is important to nourish your skin. There are some great facial products around and some fantastic products for the entire body.
-
Application
Take all the time you need to apply the products. Do not drag the product on your skin. Use your hands to massage the product in; using your finger tips on acupressure points on your face and the reflexology points on your feet.
-
Face
There are several facial products available with varying textures of skin. It depends on what is appropriate for each individual.
-
Shaving
Make sure you shave with the way your hair grows – downwards. This helps to prevent skin bumps and lumps and is also useful to make sure you get fewer white heads.
-
Skin discolouration
Skin discolouration, also known as hyperpigmentation affects many people across the UK. It essentially refers to dark spots or patches on the skin which gives the skin an uneven tone. This is usually caused by the over production of melanin. There are a number of reasons why this happens, the most common of which is excessive exposure to the sun, hormones and, in sometimes because of taking certain medications.
There are a whole host of creams and serums available to help alleviate the signs of skin discolouration. You just have to find one that suits you and your skin type. Remember to always do a patch test before application.
