Revlon increased its quarterly profits as the cosmetics and personal care group reported net income of $296.2 million for the quarter ending on December 31, 2010.
Revlon stated that American makeup sales went up by seven percent during the last quarter of 2010 to $201 million.
This was mainly directed by higher net sales of Revlon and Almay cosmetics.
The cosmetics group is known for its marketing of various products for hair colour, fragrances, beauty enhancement and skincare .
Despite the recession in the West, people still appear to be still buying cosmetics and beauty products, albeit to counter their other concerns. Hence, the cosmetics and personal care industry is faring well.
